Springtime Florals- Wine and Design Workshop

06 Apr Springtime Florals- Wine and Design Workshop

Last weekend I got to attend the Springtime Florals- Wine & Design Workshop hosted by the Iman Project + Lavender & Mint Designs and Kate McLeod Studio. We met up at Richardson Mercantile for an afternoon of mimosas, macarons, mini pies, other yummies and gorgeous spring blooms!View More: http://courtneemurphy.pass.us/lavenderandmintstudio

I’m not a big flower person when it comes to actually arranging them myself, but I knew this event would be a lot of fun and a great way to meet some new creative ladies in the DFW area.

I was first drawn to the fact that there was an actual meal at this event. Many provide cute snacks, but yummy chicken and rice with a salad and some amazing dressing that I have no idea what it was, but just take my word for it..it was YUM! The mimosa table was a quick second on my list.  I mean who can turn down a mimosa (or two)!? How cute is the sign for the table and I loved the multiple juice options! After that I grabbed a yummy macaron from The Butterfly Cake Factory and a mini pie from The Little Pie Kitchen, I headed to the main farmhouse table made by Lavender and Mint Designs to find my spot.

Each place setting had a goody bag of my favorite gummy bears from Sugarfina and a lotion from Sasha’s Hand-Poured Bath, Body and Beard Care. Also on each setting was a pretty geode with lettering done by Scribbles Lettering to identify each of our spots.
Kate from Kate McLeod Studio gave us a brief introduction on some basics of how to arrange our flowers and then let us get creative with the freedom to ask her questions. I honestly just wanted to take her example arrangement and call it my own since it was so pretty, but it was fun choosing my flowers and trying to figure out a cohesive way to place them.

After finishing, it was time for some more mingling and maybe sneaking another macaron 😃. I can’t wait for the next event and see what else I can try out. Bree of Lavender and Mint Designs has many more of these coming soon, so if you are in the Dallas area, stay tuned! I hear a Unicorn Cake Design Workshop and many other creative things are coming soon that any girl would love!
