04 Feb Brows on Fleek with Benefit Cosmetics

Fashions of Fancy Benefit Favorites
I spent my evening last night at a fabulous event at the Benefit Cosmetics at Preston Center here in Dallas. It is the cutest beauty boutique and they have the most eye catching and creative packaging from any other company. Of course that’s all great to get you to notice the products, BUT on top of that, their products really are uh-mazing! I had tried a handful of the Benefit products before last night and they are the staples that I use in my makeup/beauty collection daily.     Another cool thing about the Benefit locations is their brow bar! I don’t know about you, but I went in pretty clueless on how to really make my brows pop. I had an eyebrow pencil that I kind of used before, but that was honestly the one area of my makeup routine that I wasn’t happy with..No longer though!     I sat down in the chair and explained what bothered me about my eyebrows and the first brow specialist tinted my eyebrows to make them a little darker and then the second brow specialist worked his magic using the brow zings palette and the high brow highlighter pencil. Once they finished, I looked in the mirror and was amazed at how much better they looked. As Khloe Kardashian eyebrows were now ON FLEEK!Below are my favorite Benefit Cosmetics Products right now. (click images below to purchase)EYES: 1. They’re Real Mascara- I use this on a daily basis since I haven’t tried out using false lashes yet and it works wonders! It thickens, lengthens, is the perfect Jet Black color and doesn’t dry out throughout the day and get flaky like some others I have tried.2. Stay Don’t Stray Eyeshadow Primer- It took me a long time to realize how important shadow primer was. I kept hearing all the rave but was determined it was just a way to get you to buy another product, then one day I received a sample in one of my beauty boxes…and the rest is history. It really does not only make your shadow color more vibrant, but it also will keep it from creasing or wearing off throughout the day, so I am now a big promoter of shadow primer. This is honestly the only one I have tried, so maybe I am a little biased, but I love it!BROWS: 3. High Brow Highlighting Pencil- I had never tried this product before last night, but I realized how much definition and lift it gave to my brows just by underlining and blending it  in. I decided not to purchase this yet, but I am definitely going to go back and get this one soon! 4. Brow Zings Eyebrow Shaping Kit- This another product that I hadn’t tried before, but after seeing the end result of my new brows, I was running to the checkout counter to buy this! It comes in three different shades and includes wax, powder, two brushes, tweezers, a mirror and a lesson to help guide you! He made it all look so easy working with my brows last night, but I’ll let you know how it goes when I try it myself. I’ll also add this to my video “to-do” list once I master it. 😉FACE: 5. Hoolah Matte Bronzer- This is another product I got as a sample in a beauty box a while back. I don’t use it everyday because some days I want a shimmer bronzer, but it’s a great bronzer when you want a matte finish and is great for contouring. It comes with a brush included so it’s a two in one!6. High Beam Liquid Highlighter- I also hadn’t tried this highlighter before, nor had I ever tried a liquid highlighter. I have been hooked on the Becca- Champagne Pop, but was open to the idea of trying something new and I’m glad I did! The High Beam went on so easy and blended out with a brush easily to give the perfect bit of highlight on my cheekbones. I didn’t end up buying this and am seriously regretting it, so you will probably see me post in a few days that I gave in and went back to purchase’s THAT good!SKINCARE: 7. It’s Potent Eye Cream- I use this in my nightly beauty routine before I go to bed even though the website says it’s great to use daily. It’s super soft, goes on easy and is supposed to get rid of any dark circles. I just love how yummy it feels on my skin! I will note that I haven’t ever had an issue with dark circles, so I can’t confirm for sure if it actually gets rid of those. People rant that it does though in the reviews! What are some of your favorite beauty items?  Stay Fancy! <3 Hollie

My Favorite Planners: Emily Ley, MochiThings, Kate Spade, Target

Yay for the weekend!

I’ve recently noticed that my schedule has gotten a little too crazy for my usual sticky notes and that I really needed a planner to stay organized. Yes, I know..we all have iPhones, etc. now but for some reason, I still like to physically write things down.

I saw this Emily Ley simplified planner on The Cake by Hannah (you should check out her blog also!) as well as several other blogs and knew it would be perfect!  Of course I was a wee bit late and it’s already sold out. 🙁 I luckily found someone that decided they didn’t want theirs and I’m so happy that I did! It has really helped me keep all my appointments and daily “to-do’s” in check! Plus, who doesn’t love that feeling of marking something off once you accomplish it!? There are so many great planners out there, so don’t worry if you can’t get your hands on this one! I linked some other great ones above. 😉 read more

Happy Tuesday!

There are some days when you just feel like wearing something comfy..cute but comfy. Yesterday was one of those days for me. It was a Monday after all!

I recently got this sweater from Express and it’s the perfect length for skinnies or leggings. I love that the back is a little longer since most of us need a little extra to cover the junk in the trunk. 😉 I also love that it’s the perfect soft grey color and has three quarter length sleeves. read more

Happy Saturday!

When I saw Pantone release the colors for 2016, I was so excited that Rose Quartz was one of them! For some reason I just gravitate to this blush color any time that I see it. I love that it’s girly and feminine, but on this particular day, I wanted that side but also wanted to bring my edgy side! I call this ballerina biker chic because this color takes me back to my dancing days when I did ballet and the biker chic part for obvious reasons. 😉 read more
