17 Jan How I Straighten My Hair

Several of you have asked me about different ways I style my hair, and this post is going to focus on how I straighten my hair. I used  to blow dry it and use a straightener  when I wanted that sleek look, but I now prefer to wash my hair and night and let it air dry, which means I wake up with it a wild and wavy mess as you can see below.

Top: Target // Lips: Glamsicle (Gigi) // Jade Straightening Brush: Irresistible Me

I start by clipping my hair partially up so that I can straighten it in sections. It sounds like this would take longer, but I have learned that by doing it in sections, the least you have to go back and redo in the end. 😉 read more

31 Dec Giveaway with X Jewellery

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by X Jewellery to collaborate and I was so excited after learning about their company. Not only do I love the fact that you can customize your own pieces by choosing links (or you can select their pre-made bracelets), but they inspire women around the world to follow their dreams. I’m so excited to be hosting a Giveaway with X Jewellery right now!

I selected the pink links because if you haven’t noticed, pink is my favorite color 😉 and added in heart and star charm links. If you head over to my Instagram, you can enter to win the exact bracelet I created above as well as a 2017 calendar. Check out an intro video about the calendar here. read more

03 Nov Staycation at Etta’s Place

Every once in a while, everyone needs a vacation, but sometimes you don’t have the free time to go somewhere far away and just want a quick staycation! Last week, Robyne from Southern Affairs and I hopped in the car and drove to Ft. Worth for a fun girl’s trip. Ft. worth is only about 35 minutes from Dallas, but I recommend it even if you are from further out of town/state.

Etta’s Place

We stayed both nights in Sundance Square at my new favorite spot, c/o Etta’s Place. Etta’s Place is an adorable little bed and breakfast in the middle of downtown and the perfect quiet get away with only 10 rooms. The manager, Leslie, as well as the other ladies that work there are extremely nice and helpful. Even though we both live close to Ft. Worth, we didn’t have the best idea of what we wanted to do while we were there and they were super helpful giving us ideas and letting us in on a few places that most don’t know about.

20 Oct Olive Details

One of my favorite colors for fall is olive green. I really just loved any shade of green, but olive is the first color I pop out when fall gets here. It’s a great neutral that you can mix with many different colors, one of my favorites being blush pink, or you can pair it with neutrals like I did with this look.

I started with a plain white bodysuit and a high waisted pair of flare jeans for this day. I am obsessed with bodysuits and love pairing them with jeans and skirts. I hope they don’t go out anytime soon because I just keep loading up on them..I literally have an entire section in my closet specifically for bodysuits…eek! I then found this skinny scarf that I purchased and simply tied it in a bow. The outfit could be finished at that point, but I always want to throw on a vest when I feel an outfit is a little blah, so that’s what I did! I added this tan sleeveless blazer and it was just the look I wanted. I threw on my favorite booties from ShuEsq that are a beautiful greenish yellow color and grabbed my olive bag. I threw on some jewelry and was out the door for the perfect fall day browsing around the Bishop Arts District here in Dallas. read more
