25 Oct DIY Denim and Pearls

Every one needs a good denim jacket and the denim wash to have this fall is faded black! I looked all over to find the perfect faded black denim jacket that was a bit oversized without making me looking boxy and the perfect black wash without looking gray. After a few weeks of searching, I found this one from Express. If you know me, you know I don’t really do basic or plain (haha!), so I plain denim jacket just wasn’t going to cut it for me. I loved all the pearl detailed jackets I kept seeing pop up, so I decided to take this one and create my own DIY denim and pearls jacket!
It’s a really easy DIY project to do and all you need is a pack of pearls and some fabric glue. I chose a pack that had pearls that were flat on the back so that they would stay on better and I also wanted a pack that had different sizes. For glue, I chose a really strong adhesive that said it also worked on fabric.
The only thing left to do is to lay out your jacket and arrange the pearls to your liking! I chose to cover one of the pockets and then the shoulder of the jacket on the opposite side, but you can get creative and arrange them anyway. After you have them arranged, all you do is add a drop of glue to each pearl and stick it down. It’s a really simple way to take your jacket the next level and to make it your own. If you don’t want to spend a lot on a new jacket, you can always head to your local thrift store and find one also.
To finish up this look, I added a plunging black body suit with my favorite black crops and a statement necklace from Bauble Bar.
I’d love to see the DIY jackets you create! Tag me on social media at @fashionsoffancy!
