28 Mar Designer Spotlight: Double Standard Clothing

Photo c/0 View33

The Apparel Market at Dallas Market Center is one of my favorite things to attend in Dallas. The main reason is because I get to discover new designers that I can share with you all. That doesn’t necessarily mean that they are “new”, but they are new to me. Hopefully you all enjoy seeing their pieces and learning a little bit of their stories. I started doing this with AMS Atelier and want to continue doing designer spotlights at least once a month. This month, I bring you Double Standard Clothing: designed by Masahisa Takino. read more

17 Mar The Hitchcock Blondes Collection

A month or so ago, I had the absolute honor of getting to meet and sit down and chat with the fabulous Alexander Michael Snyder. You may have seen him and his talent on season 15 of Project Runway and you can read more about him here. We met at the NYLO hotel bar lobby and sat down with a drink so that I could preview his newest collection, The Hitchcock Blondes Collection, and I was blown away! Alex is a huge fan of Alfred Hitchcock’s and is often inspired by Tippi Hedren and you can see pieces of this throughout these looks. All AMS pieces are made in San Francisco at the AMS atelier and you can see the studio in the background of the lookbook photos, which I thought was a really cool way to show some behind the scenes peeking through. My favorite part of all (besides the actual pieces themselves) is the fact that AMS pieces are size inclusive! Alex made it very clear to me that he wants to include and make all women feel beautiful. It hits home for me and made me love him and his work even more. read more
