Fall is finally here; well in most places it is at least. Sadly, it’s still super hot here in Dallas, but I’m still creating fall looks for those of you who are already experiencing the cool and crisp weather, or for those that are still shopping for it as you sweat. 😉 I teamed up with Modcloth to bring you this look that is easy to throw on together, or either piece can be worn separately.
This sweater is the perfect tunic length that would be great with leggings and boots and trust me, it will keep you warm! It was about 90 degrees when I was shooting this look and I almost died, but it will be great when it’s actually cold! Also, these pants speak for themselves and are a statement piece on their own, but I can’t wait to style them different ways. Lauryncakes had these pants on the other day with black booties and a graphic tee and she rocked that look! Check it out –> here.
I snagged these booties before NYFW and they are velvet, the perfect colors for fall and extremely comfy which is always a huge plus in my book, and are under $100! Slip them on with dresses, pants or any outfit pieces in between.
All of you know that my whole purpose for having this blog is to promote body positivity, which is one reason that I love working with Modcloth. Modcloth is size inclusive (my sweater comes in sizes xs-4x and the pants up to a 2X) and they are all about empowering women! This outfit was one that truly challenged me to figure out a way to make it work on my body type. I have shorter legs, a longer torso and obviously am on the curvy side, so this isn’t a typical outfit I would go far.
When I ordered the pieces, I saw it together on a model that was probably a size 2 and about 6 feet tall and she looked fabulous and I loved how the pants flowed as she walked. I got it in the mail and tried it on and felt super frumpy, but was determined to find a way to make it work! I hemmed the pants a bit for my short legs and added a heeled bootie to give me some height and I actually ended up loving the pieces together. I say all that to show you that I am right with you all at struggling with certain styles and pieces, but if you really love something, you can always find a way to make it work for you! The key is confidence and keeping your head high and you can be fierce AF in any outfit! 😉
Thank you to Modcloth for sponsoring this look! What are your thoughts on the wide leg velvet pants? Let me know in the comments.
