13 Jun Workshops with a Purpose- The Iman Project
Last Sunday, my Mom and I attended the Summer Wine and Design Workshop as part of the Workshops with a Purpose by The Iman Project. Kate McLeod, a very talented Dallas Floral Designer, co-hosted this event to teach us how to make to the perfect flower arrangement.
Bree, pictured below, started the Workshops with a Purpose to bring together women of all backgrounds, orientations, religions, races, etc. to enjoy a new experience together. Every event is different, but we made the perfect summer floral arrangements while enjoying the beautiful decor at Pazzo Uptown, a chic and modern American Italian restaurant and lounge here in Dallas.
We enjoyed delicious strawberry champagne flavored cotton candy (with glitter on it!) by Haywood Cotton Candy Catering while we waited to be seated. Backstage Life was also there to do mini makeovers if you needed a touch up.
On we found our seats, the tables were decorated with palm leaves and place cards done for each of us by Scribbles Lettering and koozies and swag bags by Ink.The.Tee.Glam.
Also placed on the tables was a menu showing our first course as a caesar salad and a choice for our second course- spaghetti and meatballs (that I chose) and buttered noodles (that mom had)- both very delicious! Our glasses were filled with Jolle Folle rose as we chatted among ourselves and met new faces at our tables. I love how everyone is so friendly at these events!
A table at a time, we chose our flowers for our individual arrangements from a gorgeous array of summer flowers. I chose to make mine really colorful, while mom made hers mainly all pink. (you know I got the whole pink thing from somewhere 😉 )
Bree also did some giveaways for wine and cakes and mom won this cake below by Kreme de la cupcake that not only looked amazing, but was delicious too! We cut a slice once we got back to our hotel room, but one of the larger ones was served to everyone at the event for dessert and it was delicious also. Bree always makes sure that everyone gets a meal at all her events which is definitely unique to the Dallas event scene, since there are usually light snacks at most events. I feel like a meal brings people together even more, so this is just another reason I appreciate her events so much.
